Some treats have "vegetable glycerin" listed in the ingredients. What is it made out of?

Our 95% Meat Training Bites and 95% Meat Flips are made of 95% meat, 5% vegetable glycerin.

The vegetable glycerin is sourced from Germany, is non-GMO, and made from feedstocks including palm oil, palm kernel oil, rapeseed oil, sunflowerseed oil, coconut oil, linseed oil. The ratio varies between 0-100% subject to season and we cannot guarantee the ratio given a specific batch number.

Vegetable glycerin acts as a humectant, which means that it binds water to the treat and gives it elasticity. This makes the treat chewy. If it weren't for the vegetable glycerin, all of the water would evaporate during the cooking process and the texture of the treat would be very hard and brittle - not a very enjoyable treating experience!
